Remaining Ink Cloths transforms used wiping cloths from the drawing process into autonomous artworks, in which traces of ink and color gain a new, fluorescent life.
While drawing with coloured inks and pencils, the artist used small cotton cloths to wipe off excess ink. Once such a cloth had become saturated with traces of lines and colours, he rolled it up into a bundle and tied it with a cord. The bundle was then sprayed entirely with fluorescent orange paint. After drying, the cloth was unwrapped and stretched on a frame. In this way, a simple tool from the drawing process turns into an autonomous artwork.
